We Did What ??

WE CAME IN SECOND FOR 2006!  WOW!

What Is Volvo 2006 ?

News From Sweden...

Hi JVC and Now St. Laurent Academy! The news from Sweden is great!  We have been treated like royalty by our hosts.  They love Canadians and have enjoyed sharing many stories with us about nature, weather and hockey.  Infact, when we got off the plane you would think that we landed in northern Ontario.

Our team has already caught the eye of the organizers and the other countries.  Our project is well received and we were asked to represent the adventure in numerous press conferences along with the country of Turkey.

As well as making an impact, we are making friends.  We have really enjoyed sharing thoughts and ideas with the Brazillians, Greeks and Ugandans.  Our practice rehersal was pretty cool.  We have taken over 900 pictures and tons of videos.  The weather is cooler than Ottawa but the sun is up for 18 hours, it is really only dark out from 10:30 to about 3:30 am.

Our big presentation was May 15.  We could not imagine that we would make second place.  We know it will be difficult as the other teams have amazing projects!

The country and the people are amazing!  As Alex says in the conclusion of our speech, it is the experience of a lifetime......it really was.

To learn a bit more on other projects that were with us during this amazing week, check out the Volvo Adventure website at www.volvoadventure.org
